About Osteoporosis

According to International Osteoporosis Foundation, osteoporosis is a disease which makes bones weak and fragile. This greatly increases the risk of breaking a bone even after a minor fall or bump. The disease has no obvious symptoms, so many people don’t know they have osteoporosis until they suffer a fracture. Fractures can be life-altering, causing pain, disability and loss of independence. That’s why it’s important to prevent osteoporosis!

The Challenge

The common methods of existing osteoporosis screening are Quantitative Ultrasound and Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). The former is convenient and fast, but the accuracy is not high and the detection part is located in the ankle instead of the femur; the latter is accurate and the golden standard for diagnosing osteoporosis, but the equipment is expensive, the number of units is unevenly distributed, the inspection time is long, fractures cannot be checked at the same time, and the mobility is low that it is almost impossible to enter communities and rural areas for inspection.

Our Approach

The Osteoporosis AI Screening Assistant can be used in clinics and health check-up centers to provide fast and accurate osteoporosis screening, and can also assist medical institutions in entering rural areas and communities to actively provide people with osteoporosis screening services. The screening area complies with the medical guidelines for osteoporosis diagnosis and can simultaneously check whether there are fractures. This will fill the gap in the osteoporosis screening market and provide early detection and prevention of patients with potential risks.
